Pioneer Expands the DJ's Performance Capabilities with a new DJM Mixer
Dorval, QC (August 11, 2009) – Pioneer Electronics (USA) Inc. Professional Sound and Visual Division and SF Marketing are pleased to announce the DJM-5000, an innovative audio mixer designed specifically for the growing number of mobile DJs, offering them additional capabilities to expand their musical and entertainment abilities. The DJM-5000 is geared for all types of performances, offering new features such as multi-zone entertainment, three microphone inputs, Advanced Talk Over, 96kHz / 24-bit sampling, Sound Maximizer, MIDI mapping capability and a built-in sound card. The mixer is intended for rack mount installation, complementing Pioneer’s MEP-7000 and SEP-C1 multi-entertainment systems providing improved mobility for DJs on the go.
Mastering Different Zones
The DJM-5000 features two flexible output modes: multi-zone and standard. In multi-zone mode, the mixer’s outputs can be dedicated to multiple audio sources and distributed to two different areas or rooms. For example, this groundbreaking feature allows DJs to transmit music from a separate source such as an MP3 player to a lounge or cocktail room while simultaneously outputting high energy music from digital turntables to a main dance floor. Similarly, broadcasts from a microphone also can be selected to transmit separately to two different zones, allowing MC performances or announcements to be tailored to the appropriate areas. In standard mode, all four audio outputs are directed to one area such as a main dance floor.
Mic Check One-Two
The DJM-5000 incorporates another industry first, an exclusive feature called Advanced Talk Over* , which attenuates the frequencies in the mid-range / vocal area of music being played while the microphone is in use. The Advanced Talk Over feature is designed to distinguish announcements made by the DJ and/or MC without lowering the entire volume output, which can often affect the energy of the event. The output of the feature can be adjusted accordingly in two levels through a dedicated control knob on the front panel.
Enhanced Control and Connectivity
The DJM-5000 is equipped with a six-channel (three stereo pairs) USB Audio Interface. The connection allows direct plug-in from a laptop computer** to the mixer over the USB connection without using an additional external sound card.
The mixer is fully functional as a flexible MIDI controller. Sixty-one of the DJM-5000’s seventy-three buttons, knobs and sliders are assignable to transmit control data via MIDI signal to a laptop’s USB port while running any MIDI-compatible DJ software.
Additional Functions:
- Digital Input – Two digital inputs allow the user to connect digital sources with digital outputs for the best possible signal quality without deterioration of the content.
- Peak Level Meter – Each channel features a multi-colored, 10-segment / per channel LED meter to quickly view audio levels at a glance
- 3-Band EQ – Equipped with a 3-band (High, Mid, Low) equalizer on each channel, the sound can be adjusted from –26dB to +6dB
- Cross Fader Assign – Users can easily assign channel output via the cross fader for increased flexibility
- Cross Fader Curve Adjust – Allows the curve of the cross fader to be adjusted to any of three patterns
- Fader Start Play – The mixer can automatically start/cue a connected device such as Pioneer’s CDJ or MEP players by simply sliding the cross fader or channel fader
The DJM-5000 will be available in October 2009 for a manufacturers’ suggested retail price of $1,400.00 CAD.

Pioneer Livens DJ Performances With Two New Dj Machines
Pioneer Electronics (USA) Inc. Professional Sound and Visual Division, the leader in Pro DJ products and the innovator of the CD turntable, has unveiled the latest addition to its family of DJ compact disc players, the MEP-7000, Professional Multi-Entertainment Player and the SEP-C1, Professional Software Entertainment Controller. Pioneer's DJ CD players have established a worldwide reputation for their superior performance for both professional and amateur DJs, continuing to strengthen their status as an industry standard. The MEP-7000 and SEP-C1 will be available in July with a manufacturer suggested retail price of $2,600.00 CAD and $1,450.00 CAD, respectively.
"The way in which mobile and club DJs catalog and play their music is changing," said Mark MacLellan, Product Manager for Pioneer Pro DJ at SF Marketing, the product's exclusive Canadian distributor. "Laptops are quickly becoming commonplace in the DJ booth and both the MEP-7000 and SEP-C1 respond to that trend. Advance buzz on both products has exceeded any previous Pioneer Pro DJ product and we are anxious to see the first units arrive in Canada."
The MEP-7000 is a compact, easy-to-transport Professional Multi-Entertainment Player inheriting the basic functions and operability of the popular Pioneer CDJ- series turntables. In addition to playback of conventional music from CD/CD-ROM/DVD-ROM discs, the MEP-7000 enable users to play MP3/AAC files stored on various memory media formats. The dual-player is extremely convenient for DJs performing in an environment where space dedicated for the jock is limited and flexible media playback is a must, such as a café or bar where various parties or events are held. The system also enables DJs to easily create and set up pre-programmed play lists for "gigs" at such times as a dinner hour set or a break.
The SEP-C1 Professional Software Entertainment Controller is a dual MP3 music controller which allows the user to manage and control playback of audio files stored on a PC. It emulates the full-scale DJ performance of the CDJ series operability without the need of a mouse or keyboard.

SF Marketing Inc and Pioneer Electronics (USA) Inc.'s Professional Sound and Visual Division are proud to unveil the new reference model HDJ-2000, the latest addition to Pioneer's popular, professional DJ headphone series. The HDJ-2000 will be available in December 2008 with an MSRP of $455 CAD.
The Pioneer HDJ-2000 represents the result of numerous requests from top DJs around the world, who demanded headphones that provide:
- Exceptionally high-quality sound that clearly and accurately reproduces audio
- An extraordinarily comfortable fit to minimize fatigue from long periods of use
- Rock-solid build quality and durability that withstands demanding conditions and touring
"Pioneer has again set the standard for quality and functionality", said Mark MacLellan, Pioneer Product Manager for SF Marketing Inc, exclusive distributor for Pioneer ProDJ in Canada. "These new headphones are a testament to their dedication to elevating the user and artist experience."
The headphone is uniquely designed to improve sound quality and reliability-perfect for use in DJ environments and studios. Additionally, the headphones have an enclosed "over-ear" design with ear pads that seal around the user's ears, reducing ambient noise and providing superior sound isolation for tracking in a loud club environment or a studio. The ear pad's unique material, memory foam (Polyurethane foam), provides a tight yet comfortable seal, further enhancing sound reproduction especially in the mid to high frequency ranges.
The HDJ-2000 employs a Mini XLR connection to join the main body with the nearly ten feet of cable to achieve both a quality "sound" connection and easy replacement. With a new i-type hinge, a smooth and integral form has been achieved that naturally fits the hands at any time during DJ performance. The headphone's ear pads have a spun finish aluminum ring that matches the design of Pioneer's CDJ players' "play/cue" buttons for a cohesive stylish design.
