The Duesenberg Starplayer Bass was designed to complement the iconic construction of the Starplayer TV guitar series. Built specifically with versatile studio and stage musicians in mind, it delivers a rich, deep, and thunderous bottom end that solid-body basses struggle to match. Its semi-hollow body design—featuring an arched laminated spruce top paired with figured flamed maple back and sides—creates a warm, open acoustic resonance while incorporating a specialized internal sustain center block to effectively eliminate unwanted live stage feedback even at high gain levels.
The fast-playing 30.2-inch short-scale maple neck is paired with a Plek-processed Indian rosewood fingerboard, ensuring precise intonation and remarkably low action across all 22 jumbo frets. Electronics-wise, dual custom Duesenberg Bassbucker pickups offer crisp articulation and rich overtones. They are controlled via independent volume pots for infinite blend capabilities, a master tone dial, and a helpful auxiliary mute switch mounted right on the pickguard so you can silence the output silently without disrupting your preferred blend settings.
