3D datacomm installed various Shure products from their Microflex Wireless and Discussion Systems series. The Shure Microflex Wireless and Discussion Systems solution provided a vivid, sophisticated quality of sound to their conference calls and meetings and ensured ease of use for the end user with a completely scalable system to accommodate both small and large groups.
When the Labrador North Chamber of Commerce (LNCC) planned to renovate their Business Innovation Centre boardroom, they relied on 3D datacomm – an Atlantic Canadian company specializing in A/V installation – to rectify their audio challenges. The boardroom is used as a multi-purpose room, mainly for teleconferencing and as a meeting space. Since the room will be used often, the LNCC wished for a userfriendly, high quality sound set-up to ensure ease of use and user convenience. In order to help the LNCC reach their goals with the boardroom, 3D datacomm senior install technician Richard White suggested a Shure Microflex Wireless system, as well as the Shure Digital IR (DIR) Audio Distribution System.
3D datacomm began staging for their work in the boardroom in February 2015 while the actual installation took place in June 2015. The staging time allowed for a simple installation over the course of four weeks. The Shure Microflex Wireless series was the ideal choice for the LNCC’s Business Innovation Centre boardroom since it offers a reliable wireless conferencing system that captures natural, authentic sound without feedback.
The installation included sixteen (16) Shure MX410LP/C gooseneck microphones, sixteen (16) MXW8 gooseneck microphone base transmitters and two (2) Shure SCM820-DAN digital mixers and Shure MXWAPT8 access point transceivers alike. 3D datacomm also used one (1) Luxul XMS-1010P switch and a digital infra-red audio distribution system, the Shure DIR.
The Shure DIR is used in the boardroom for high quality audio transmission, as well as language transmission. The DIR allows the LNCC to make use of the system’s 32 channels, usually using two channels of interpretation for English and French and occasionally adding a third for Innu, an Algonquian language widely spoken by over 10,000 Innu in Labrador and Quebec.
In terms of installation, Richard White and 3D datacomm appreciated the ease of setting up the Microflex Wireless system. White is also very satisfied with the end product, stating: “We take pride in what we do, we enjoy seeing the end product and we make sure everything looks as pristine as possible.”
