Montreal distributor lends support for a fourth year to educational program that brings well-known Quebecois artists to schools throughout the province

SFM, in partnership with Alvarez Guitars, is delighted to renew its support of Festif! à l’École, an educational and philanthropic venture of Le Festif! De Baie St-Paul, the popular music and street performing arts festival held annually in the scenic Charlevoix region of Quebec.

Since its inception in 2018, Le Festif! à l’École has brought distinguished Quebecois artists directly into elementary and high schools across the province. Students benefit from engaging with well-known musicians, participating in songwriting workshops, gaining insights into the singer-songwriter profession, and witnessing live performances.

For the fourth consecutive year, SFM has donated a selection of Alvarez acoustic guitars, which will be distributed to thirty schools visited by the program. These guitars will enable young musicians, inspired by the program, to access quality instruments more easily while nurturing their artistic talents.

“We are thrilled to once again be backing this remarkable initiative,” expressed Erik Lind, Retail Category Manager at SFM. “Fostering artistic and musical creativity among our youth is a crucial mission, and Le Festif! à l’École is doing an outstanding job in fulfilling this purpose.”

From September 2023 through June 2024, 80 different elementary and high schools across Quebec will be visited by artists, which will include: Simon Kearney, Greg Beaudoin, Sara Dufour, Comment Debord, Lova, Gab Bouchard, Samian, Calamine, Émile Bilodeau, Sensei H, Mantisse, Aswell, Qualité Motel, Lou-Adriane Cassidy, Jérôme 50, Claudia Bouvette, Manu Militari, Les Hay Babies, Lary Kidd, Les Deuxluxes, Vincent Vallières, Rymz and Philippe Brach.
