SFM has named Randal Tucker as its new President, effective January 31. Concurrently, Sol Fleising, founder and owner of SFM, will be assuming the title of Chief Executive Officer.
A native of the United States who holds dual Canadian-American citizenship, Tucker’s career spans several different roles in different industries ranging from software manufacturing to consumer electronics, in roles as diverse as project management, operations, and product management. He joined SFM in 2008 as Director of Product Management, where he has since held the positions of Vice President of Marketing and Chief Operating Officer. Tucker is also a classically-trained musician, and holds a Bachelor’s degree in music performance from the University of Southern California, a master’s degree in music history from Indiana University, and an MBA from HEC Montréal (Université de Montréal).
“Randal’s performance as COO and dedication to SFM have made it easy for me to choose him as our new President,” said Fleising. “Randal has proven himself to be a wise and intelligent leader, earning the respect of our internal team as well as our customers and suppliers. SFM has an excellent reputation in our industry and I am confident that under Randal’s leadership we will continue to grow and prosper.”
“I’m honoured to have been given the opportunity to continue in a leadership role at SFM,” said Tucker. “It’s been a thrill to work every day with so many people both inside and outside our organization who are so passionate about what they do, and to be involved in industries and markets that pose such unique challenges every single day.”
